Contrary to popular opinion, achieving your dream is never easy.

If it was, then everybody would be achieving their dreams all around you, right?

If you’re like most people, then you probably have a dream.

It’s a dream you might have not just when you sleep, but when you’re awake as well.

This dream is what you want your life to become.

It’s what you work so hard to achieve.

And this dream is yours.

Once you get started on each of these steps, then the hard part is over!

The easy part will be living your dream

And now, without further Freddy Adu, here are:

5 ridiculously simple steps to achieving your dream

1. Have a dream

Not everyone knows what their dream is yet.

If you’re one of these people, then you can find your dream by simply doing one thing:

Living.

And not just living as in you are surviving from one day to the next.

You need to be living a life full of experiences and learning.

And these are not just attained from school or a job.

These can also be achieved through things like:

  • Traveling to other lands and learning more about cultures you don’t know much about
  • Volunteering for charities that help others
  • Having hobbies that you enjoy doing regularly and for fun
  • Doing more stuff you WANT to do that are related to your dream

2. Work for your dream

Some dreams are simply handed out.

When that happens, it is typically a result of good luck, perfect timing, and other uncontrollable factors (e.g. people’s perception of you) all falling into place.

However, when you work hard to achieve a dream, then you convert many of these uncontrollable factors into factors that you can control.

Because when you control factors, then you can make them work for you and your dream.

And the more factors you control, the more likely you will actually achieve your dream. Because YOU are in control and YOU call the shots.

So how do you work for your dream?

One way is by taking advantage of educational experiences that will help answer your questions on how to live your dream.

However, it is important to note that not all education is done in the classroom.

You can gain both valuable education AND hands-on experience by working a side hustle.

A side hustle is simply you trying out your dream in a no-pressure, for fun ONLY type of way.

The benefits of a side hustle outweigh the benefits of NOT trying a side hustle.

A side hustle will teach you the things you need to know in order to learn, grow, and figure out if your dream is truly your dream.

Since I love to write and help businesses with marketing, then I decided to start a side hustle doing freelance writing and helping businesses with social media.

Without the education and experience of a side hustle, I would not learn the things I need to know in order to achieve my dream.

3. Tell others about your dream

Have you made others aware of your dream?

Or have you just kept it all to yourself, like the last slice of gluten-free Bold Organics Veggie Lovers Pizza?

If others know about your dream, then that means they are aware of what you want to do and may offer assistance.

Or they may simply be inspired to start on their own dreams.

Your dream may be your own, but it will be much easier to achieve with some help from others, especially people who achieved their own dream and know what it takes.

What’s the best way to tell others about your dream?

Social media is a fun and FREE way to tell a lot of people information.

Some of the more popular social media sites that I use to promote my blog and my dream are sites I am on all the time anyway for fun and to learn more things:

Another great way to tell others about you dream is by starting a blog, which brings us to the next ridiculously simple step to achieving your dream…

4. Blog about your dream

When you start a blog, you are telling people about your expertise, passion, interests, and knowledge.

In other words, your blog is about your dream.

My dream is to be a writer and live solely based on my creative endeavors.

And that’s why I started my blog.

Now that I have this blog, I am able to do what I love and dream about doing: writing, helping others, and being creative.

The blog has also helped me learn about and apply many important lessons that I need to know in order to find success as a writer.

I also like to share what I’ve learned in the process.

For example, I’ve previously written a few blog posts about blogging and how to do it.

I wrote these not only to help others achieve their dream, but to help myself as well:

5. Never give up on your dream

I have failed at quite a few things in my life, both on a professional and personal level.

However, I have learned that failure is an essential part of achieving your dream.

Failure will help you uncover the path to success that leads to your dream. How?

By showing you the things you have to do (or not do) in order to achieve success instead of failure.

But if you let failure completely halt you from finding your path to success, then failure has won and you have lost.

There are many ways to fail, but there is usually only one path to your dream.

How do you find this path to your dream?

By never giving up on finding it.

Successfully completing these 5 ridiculously simple steps to achieving your dream is contingent upon three things you should be bringing to the table if you are truly serious about achieving your dream:

1. Hard work
2. Commitment
3. Sacrifice

When we look at the individual components or steps of making your dream a reality, we can see how simple and do-able they really are.

They’re simple and do-able IF you are willing to work hard, commit to the end goal, and make the sacrifices you need to make today in order to have a better tomorrow.

The toughest part of any journey is always the beginning.

After that, comes the fun part. That part?

Oh, it’s only your dream.

And you’re living it.

All because you simply started it and didn’t stop until you achieved it.
